(Pat & Furry Friends’ Resident Chloe)

"For The Love Of Animals" features real stories happening at Furry Friends in Jupiter. We are The Humane Society of Greater Jupiter/Tequesta and the only no-kill shelter open to the public in northern Palm Beach County.  We’ve been rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing the homeless animals in our community for more than 30 years.  Our not for profit 501c3 organization consists of our Jupiter based adoption center, veterinary clinic (open to the public), thrift store, and Palm City ranch.

“Ms. Pat, tell me a story please.”

“Oh Chloe, anything for you.  The story I want to tell you is actually a dream.  A lifelong dream for you and all of our Furry Friends that will soon come true”

“You have perked my ears and piqued my curiosity.  Tell me more!”

“Well Chloe, just down the road, in the Jupiter Commerce Park, our Furry Friends’ dream is taking shape in the form of blocks, mortar and roof trusses.  Soon, drywall, flooring, and fixtures will be added.  Then we’ll see more of the really fun stuff…

  • A two-story glass- walled cattery
  • Indoor & outdoor play areas for you and your canine pals
  • A community room where you can take doggie yoga and we can host children’s birthday parties with puppies & kittens
  • The Furry Friends’ Catfe, a lounge where visitors can enjoy a cup of coffee while our cats intrigue them with their charm and playfulness
  • A brand new veterinary clinic where we can give care to even more than the 23,000+ animal patients we saw in 2018.

Can you envision it Chloe?”

“Oh, I can see it Ms. Pat.  I see life soaring for me and the many other animals who call Furry Friends their temporary home. I hear that more spacious living quarters are in our future. And that lots of windows will brighten our days with sunshine, and perhaps we’ll even get to see a squirrel or two.  The play yards will be amazing… you know I love to run and get fresh air.  I can’t wait!”

“Chloe, you are worth it.  Each of our Furry Friends is worth it.  As the only no-kill shelter open to the public in north Palm Beach County, we’re thrilled that our new home is on the horizon, and proud that we can provide a special gathering place for the community.  None of us can wait! So start packing your bags now!

Furry Friends’ new Adoption Center & Veterinary Clinic, located at 100 Capital Street in the Jupiter Commerce Park, will be completed in September 2019.  We have work to do and money to raise, but with your help, we can actualize the dream that’s been the hope of our organization for decades.
